The City of Tybee Island is committed to preserving the authentic history and beauty of Tybee Island while creating a welcoming, economically sound and sustainable community atmosphere year-round. Partners work in conjunction with the city to ensure activities compliment the overall vision of preserving community, commerce and culture. The City’s Development Authority / Main Street Program serves as a clearinghouse for organizations and businesses by facilitating efforts to meet objectives designed to strengthen the local economy by preserving/protecting the historic character, ensuring a marketable identity, and maintaining the quality of life. Since 2010, merchants and residents have partnered through the Program to achieve this commitment in a balanced fashion. While being fiscally responsible with the funding allocated by the City accompanied by spirited hard-working individuals, donations help ensure identified projects will continue to have a sustainable impact to keep Tybee Island strong and vibrant!
