There’s something extra special about the holiday season on Tybee Island! From twinkling lights and festive traditions to shopping local and celebrating with friends and neighbors, Tybee for the Holidays brings a little coastal charm to the most wonderful time of the year. Hosted by Tybee Island Main Street, this annual celebration is all about bringing our community together, making memories, and enjoying the holidays the Tybee way!

The festivities kick off in November with Small Business Bingo, a fun way to explore the island, discover local favorites, and support the businesses that make Tybee so special. On Small Business Saturday, we’ll gather for our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, complete with holiday music, sweet treats, a visit from Santa, and the magical moment when our community Christmas tree lights up the night!

The holiday fun continues in December with the Tybee Island Christmas Parade of Lights, one of our favorite island traditions! Watch as festive floats, decorated vehicles, and cheerful participants make their way through town, spreading Christmas spirit along the way. The following day, our Holiday Market brings together more than 50 vendors offering unique gifts, handmade treasures, and seasonal goodies. With live entertainment, children’s activities, a festive pet parade, and plenty of holiday cheer, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

And because we like to do things a little differently here on Tybee, we wrap up the holiday season by welcoming the New Year with our annual Polar Plunge! Whether you’re brave enough to take a chilly dip in the Atlantic or prefer to cheer everyone on from the beach, it’s a fun and unforgettable way to kick off the year.

At its heart, Tybee for the Holidays is about so much more than events and decorations. It’s about supporting our local businesses, celebrating the traditions we love, and spending time with the people who make our little island community so special.

Whether you call Tybee home or you’re visiting for the holidays, we can’t wait to celebrate the season with you. Come make some holiday memories, island style!
